Editorial independence

Editorial conclusions are made by Gamer Tested. A manufacturer, retailer, advertiser, or affiliate partner may not approve, edit, or delay a verdict. Commercial relationships do not guarantee coverage or a favorable result.

Product access

Reviews disclose whether a product was purchased, borrowed, or supplied by its manufacturer. Loaned products are returned when testing ends unless the review states a different arrangement. Gifts, paid trips, and unusual access that could reasonably affect reader trust are disclosed.

Testing process

A player-fit profile can be published before direct testing when it is clearly labeled and limited to confirmed game information plus editorial interpretation. A hands-on review requires original play sessions and a written test plan. We document relevant versions, hardware, settings, conditions, tools, and test dates.

1. Define the product's intended user and the buying questions the review must answer.
2. Verify important specifications against primary or official sources where possible.
3. Run repeatable measurements, repeat questionable results, and retain the raw observations.
4. Use the product in representative gaming and everyday scenarios.
5. Compare results with relevant alternatives available at the time of publication.
6. Write the verdict after testing is complete.

Scores and recommendations

A numerical score, when used, summarizes performance, usability, build, software, value, and suitability for the intended player. Weighting varies by category and is explained in the review. Price is evaluated at publication and can change the value conclusion later.

Player-fit signals are not public review ratings. They are versioned editorial inputs matched against preferences selected by the visitor. The interface shows the active inputs, explains the strongest match, and labels uncertain or pre-release information. Commercial payout never changes an editorial fit score.

We do not sell scores. A product can perform well and still be a poor recommendation at its current price. Conversely, an affordable product is not excused from flaws that materially damage the experience.

Sources and quotations

Technical claims are checked against primary documentation where possible. External measurements, reporting, or quotations are linked and attributed. Anonymous sourcing is reserved for information with a clear public-interest justification and requires additional verification.

Corrections and updates

Typographical changes may be corrected silently. A factual error that could change the reader's understanding receives a correction note. Firmware retests, major price changes, or long-term findings receive an updated date and a description of what changed.

AI-assisted work

Automation may assist with transcription, organization, code, or language review. It does not replace hands-on testing, choose a verdict, or serve as a factual source. Published material remains the responsibility of the editorial team.

Affiliate campaign checks

Before an affiliate link becomes active, we verify the intended country, device, landing page, allowed traffic sources, creative permissions, conversion requirements, and any daily limits. Internal payout information does not appear in an editorial verdict. A contradictory or unclear campaign rule blocks promotion until the partner clarifies it.
